148,000 foreign students studying in Turkish universities
Turkey has become a favorite destination for foreign students, thanks to its cultural, religious and economic strength, besides geographical location.
Currently more than 148,000 foreign students are studying in the country, according to the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB).
As many as 25,000 of them are studying on scholarships.
Over past 10 years, there has been 75% increase in the number of foreign students coming to Turkey as a result of growing number of outstanding higher education facilities. Most of those students preferring to study in Turkish institutions come from Asia, Africa and the Balkans.
Hundreds of thousands of foreign students from different countries and continents of the world visit Turkey and Turkish universities
to study in its universities, encouraged by the cultural, religious, economic and geographic factors that Turkey has, in addition to
the increasing number of its universities, research centers and academic centers.
The scholarship program is at the forefront of competitive programs, funded by Turkey, and is offered
to outstanding students so that they can continue their education at different levels in top universities.
The program aims to establish a network of future leaders who pledge to promote cooperation between countries and mutual understanding between communities.
