The number of Turkish properties purchased by Yemenis in the first 9 months of this year increased by 536% compared to 2015, while the percentage of real estate sold to foreigners increased by 98% in the same period.
According to Turkish Statistical Institute data, the number of Yemenis buying property in Turkey has increased exponentially with each passing year.
While the number of real estate sold to Yemenis in the first nine months of 2015 was 170 properties, the number of properties sold in the same period this year was 1,282, up by 536%.
And the number of properties sold to foreigners in the first nine months of 2019 reached 32,268 properties, up 98% compared to the same period in 2015.
In this period, the increase in the number of properties sold to Yemenis was 5.5 times higher than the increase in the number of properties sold to foreigners.
The number of properties sold to Yemenis in 2015 was 231 and 192 in 2016.
While in 2017 it was 390 properties, in 2018 reached 581 properties and in the first nine months of this year was 1,282 properties.
Yemenis ranked 20th among the most foreign buyers of real estate from Turkey in 2015, 15th in 2017, 11th in 2018, and 9th in 2019.
In 2016, they were off the top 20 foreign buyers of real estate.
The number of Yemeni investors in Turkey increases
The number of Yemenis buying property from Turkey last 2.5 years has exceeded 2 thousand 200.
And according to 2019 data, over a thousand properties were sold to Yemenis in the first nine months of the year.
Thus, four Yemenis buy property from Turkey every day.
As real estate sold to Yemenis amounted to 487 in the first nine months last year, the real estate sales increased by 122% in the same period of this year.
According to the data, the number of Yemeni companies established in Turkey reached 44 companies in 2017, 79 companies in 2018, and 41 companies in the first 7 months of this year.
This means that in two and a half years, 164 Yemeni citizens have established a company in Turkey.
